“Define success on your own terms, achieve it by your own rules, and build a life you’re proud to live.” – Anne Sweeney, Co-Chair of Disney Media Networks. Such is the story of Perl Pennu who started her Nail Art studio.
Mrs Pearl Pannu, a lady who was working comfortably in the corporate sector for a decade in Gurgaon. She decided to dip her feet into the daunting and challenging sea of entrepreneurship. A regular 9 to 5 didn’t serve her dreams. Holding on to the decision to look beyond the mundane everyday life and to define her own terms and rules, Pearl started her own venture.
Her venture has succeeded to cement itself as one of the most promising nail studio in Punjab and the Tricity, and is further making moves in the NCR with a studio in Gurgaon.
Mrs Pannu recalls how it all began as she always had her nails manicured, which were very appealing to her family and friends in Chandigarh. This influenced her to start the venture off by managing her day job alongside the studio. Her sister in law, Harkiran pitched in as a partner and took care of the studio in sector 8 Chandigarh on most days. Within a few years, the business broke through and hit commendable heights. Her corporate dream took the back seat and had been consumed by her entrepreneurial vision and passion for her business.
She has no regrets for taking this path and dropping off her corporate job. She feels confident and independent in managing the business. This enables her to focus on other aspects of life like her family and is a happy mother of two.
“Though it’s a 365 day and 24*7 involvement, the rewards are worth it and satisfactory,” says Mrs Pannu. The perk of being able to mix her creative inclination into her nail designs and colours is what keeps her going.
